Photography has always been a part of my life. My early influences were my dad with his Canon and the amazing photos I saw in each month’s National Geographic. I remember my grandparents giving me a Polaroid for Christmas when I was very young, and from there I was hooked. As I have grown older, photography has become more and more important to me, and now it is my one true passion.

One of the things I love most when I am shooting is how much I slow down, live in the moment, and really notice everything around me; and I believe my style is reflective of that. I want to use my photography to show people the beauty in the world. There are plenty of others who focus on the despair and suffering (just watch the evening news), but there is so much that is good and beautiful.

While the majority of my work is digital, I do still very much enjoy shooting with film. There’s just something about the way that film captures light that digital can’t match.

My main focus tends to be nature photography, but I enjoy shooting almost anything. In addition to my art photography, I also have a photography service, Barks and Bottles, that specializes in pets and children. You can find out more about Barks and Bottles here.
